Opticians and technicians alike are often tasked with not just fitting eyewear but adjusting and often repairing eyewear. The ability of performing a “great” adjustment is often the reason why your patients are loyal to “you”. Understanding frame materials and design will be discussed. This workshop will give instruction on various scenarios of adjusting eyewear.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Discuss frame terminology
Understand of frame materials, including all parts of the frame
Explain the fitting triangle and how it relates to the well-fitting eyewear
Understand the usage of hand tools needed for adjusting frames
Identify face form, pantoscopic, retroscopic and no tilt and how it affects vision and fit
Analyze other considerations about anatomical measurements
