With advancements in technology, patient expectations surrounding refractive cataract surgery have never been higher. More patients are proceeding with cataract surgery every year, and many are expecting reduced dependence on spectacles post-operatively. Failure to set realistic expectations with a surgery outcome will result in a dissatisfied patient. To help provide excellent refractive outcomes and a satisfying patient experience surrounding cataract surgery, it's imperative to understand the technology available and make appropriate intraocular lens recommendations.
