This course will review the diagnosis and management of anterior uveitis. The common systemic etiologies will be reviewed along with salient symptoms and signs of each disease. Using case-based examples, the course will include how to tailor laboratory testing and imaging based on patient presentation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Correctly name and classify uveitis based on standardized nomenclature
Perform an appropriate problem-focused clinical examination of a patient with anterior uveitis
Understand the options and purpose of various pharmaceutical agents used in the management of anterior uveitis
Recognize common etiologies of anterior uveitis and their presenting signs and symptoms
Identify which systemic laboratory testing would be appropriate to help identify the etiology of a patient with anterior uveitis
Recognize differential diagnoses of anterior uveitis, including “masquerade syndromes”
