This course will present necessary information that could be included in the Students’ review regarding Ophthalmic Optics and spectacles. Each section will include questions to assess the needed information to include in discussion. Primary focus will be on the area of Ophthalmic Optics / Spectacles: Optics (Ophthalmic).
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
At the completion of this course the participant should:
• Understand the relationship between the refraction distance and the fitting distance of lenses
• Describe prismatic effect
• Explain the effects of unequal refractive errors and the effect on vision
• Understand the principles of convex and concave mirrors and lenses
• Identify the change of lens position with relation to tilt, wrap and vertex distance
• Discuss some of the standards for accepting or rejecting eyewear
